چکیده

The effects of the composition and rheology of the fermentation medium on the antibiotic production by Streptomyces hygroscopicus CH-7 were studied. To increase the yields of hexaene H-85 and elaiophylin, the basic fermentation medium was reformulated using different carbon (glucose, lactose, ribose, fructose and trehalose) and nitrogen (isatin-Schiff bases) sources. The maximum yields of hexaene H-85 and elaiophylin were obtained with lactose (10 g/l) and soybean (10 g/l) as well as with glucose (10 g/l), soybean (5 g/l) and isatin-3-thiosemicarbazone (5 g/l). The morphology of S. hygroscopicus CH-7 changed with addition of sodium salt of carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) to the basic nutrition medium at the initial concentration between 1.0 and 70.0 g/l, but the microbial growth was dominantly as small dispersed pellets. The production of hexaene H-85 and elaiophylin was stimulated by CMC in the range between 10.0 -30.0 g/l.

Optimization of Culture Conditions for Keratinase Production in Streptomyces Sp. JRS19 for Chick Feather Wastes Degradation

The aim of this study was to find the optimal conditions of a newly isolated Streptomyces strain JRS 19. Screening for keratinase producing bacteria and their keratinase production were investigated. The keratinase produced by the isolate was purified by chromatographic techniques and the optimum pH maintained was 7.0 and maintained at different temperatures Viz., 20ºC, 25ºC, 30ºC, 35ºC and 40º...

The influence of Schiff base inclusion complexes with β-cyclodextrine on antibiotic production by Streptomyces hygroscopicus CH-7

A media consisting of isatin-Schiff bases and its inclusion complexes with β-cyclodextrine was developed to maximize the production of antibiotics Hexaene H-85 and azalomycine B by Streptomyces hygroscopicus CH-7. The media with β-cyclodextrine inclusion complex of isatin-3-thiosemicarbazone resulted in the maximum antibiotics concentration of 493 μg/cm for Hexaene H-85 and 191 μg/cm for azalom...

Effect of Corbon and Nitrogen Source for the Production of Tetracycline Analysis by Using Hplc

Tetracyclines are broad spectrum antibiotic, belong to the family of polyketide antibiotic ,produced by Streptomyces aureofaciens of actinobacteria. The organism Streptomyces aureofaciens 325 was obtained MTCC and cultured on the starch casein media. Screening the organism for the production was confirmed by antibiogram test. The production media was optimized by using carbon sources, and nitro...

Utilization of carbon and nitrogen sources by Streptomyces kanamyceticus for kanamycin production.

To select a suitable synthetic medium for kanamycin production, we tested a number of carbon and nitrogen compounds for their effect on growth of Streptomyces kanamyceticus ATCC 12853 as well on kanamycin production. Galactose was found to be the most suitable carbon source, though dextrin, soluble starch, and potato starch gave moderate yields. Sodium nitrate and glycine were adequate nitrogen...

Extraction and Identification of Antibacterial Secondary Metabolites From Marine Streptomyces sp. VITBRK2

Actinomycetes were isolated from marine sediment samples collected from the east coast of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. Well diffusion and agar plug methods were used for the evaluation of antibiotic production by these isolates against drug resistant Methicillin- resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and vancomycin resistant Enterococci (VRE). The potential isolate VITBRK2 was mass cultured for...
